I just ordered a Foodsaver v3840. Any one had any experiences with this and what do you think. Any tips?I got it for $138 with free shipping.

I have one of the same model. It has always worked well for me. It does the job and isn't difficult to use. It should work well for you. Also, it takes up a smaller footprint than other models. Enjoy! :thumb:
 
My wife and I use ours a lot.

She watches for good sales on meat (whole ribeyes, pork loins, those huge packs of chicken breastsm leg quarters, wings, etc) cuts into steaks, chops, and divides into meal sized bags and into the freezer with no worry of freezer burn. Season everything up before you vacuum seal to really get some penetration into the meat.

Leftover pulled pork freezes great in these bags. Heated up in a pot of water on the stove and its just as good as fresh out of the smoker, maybe even better.

Money well spent.
