I've competed in a couple backyard events here in TX last year and will be competing at the backyard event at the Bedford Blues fest in September.

I don't have the experience or the equipment to compete myself but would love to work with an experienced competitor to see how the competition works as far as setup, etc. I can travel within a few hundred miles if need be to get the experience I need.

I have my CBJ but haven't judged a competition yet. I love BBQ and cook as often as I can for friends, family, and neighbors and do everything myself including rubs and sauces.

Any help, advice, and chance to get involved in the competition side of things would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome you'll find a great group of people here :) we just had our first comp this weekend and it is VERY addicting. IMHO I would stick with a commercial sauce. Swamp boys, blues hog etc... Keep us posted as you compete :)
