I know some brethren like the "Turkey Cannon", and it tis the season. For those who have not heard of them, think "Beer Can Chicken" sized for turkey. I have heard both good and bad reports about them, but I am a sucker for devices such as these, so I am in at this price.

Bargain Outfitters has a sale going on, $10.39 plus tax & shipping. ~$18 total to Cali. There is also a meat grinder and a oversized spatula that might be of interest that are also on sale.

I bought one and used it once. Didn't improve the turkey taste at all. It now just takes up space in the cupboard.

I have two and they work great....

They keep the turkey elevated to prevent soggy-rubbery skin on the bottom, it's crisp all the way around. If you put some aromatics/herbs with a liquid it does impart a light flavor to the meat, by not overpowering flavors. I even use them when I smoke turkeys, usually putting herbs and white wine in the tube.

Even if you didn't use it to impart flavor, just keeping the bird raised is a plus... And it is easily disassembled for storage.
