On Sunday I fired up one of my UDS's to do some ribs.
Lately what I have been doing is just filling the basket and then closing it up when done.
Then light it up the left over coals for the next time (standard procedure).
I had no lump so I got two 9# bags of store brand charcoal, the cheap cheap stuff (hard to start in my chimney, but I got it).
So.......my wife called me at work (it is Tuesday) and asked me to check my DURM because it was smoking (ok, yes dear whatever).
On my way home today (Wednesday) she told me to PLEASE checked my DRUM it was still smoking and the temp gage was on 200*!!!!
My magnet on the bottom of the drum must have fallen off (not sure how, but.......).
So if you do the math starting Sunday @ 2pm + Monday @ 2pm = 24 hours + Tuesday @ 2pm = 48 hours + Wednesday @ 2pm + 5 hours (7pm when I got home) = 77 hours!!
:eek::eek::eek:

Yes, that is the beauty of the drum!

Psst.............Don't tell BBS, he doesn't like drums, pass it on!
