I getting board with my current stable of BBQ sauces. Bone suckin', baby rays and rudy's currently sit in the fridge.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a "Homemade" mail order BBQ sauce to try. Currently on the list is Big Butz BBQ.

I prefer sweet with a bit of spicy.

Thanks

If you don't mind sweet there's always Blues Hog. It is really sweet though. I usually use it with some habanero hot sauce (either Melinda's or one of many jamaican varieties) blended in for some additional heat.

I was gonna say the same thing but I like to mix it with their Tennessee Red. I think that will make the taste your looking for.

I haven't tried their Tennessee Red yet, but it sounds like good stuff by most accounts!

+1 for both BH Original and Tenn Red

Mind you, your other sauces above have smoke flavorings in them. These do not.

Although BH original + red is probably my absolute favorite for most things, Cowtown's Night of the Living BBQ is a great all-purpose sauce and it fits your description. It's available from www.originaljuan.com.

Ever try to make your own ? It's not that hard and you can adjust it to how you want it. Ive been using/makeing my passed down rub and sauce. Nothing on the shelf comes close.

Why not take what you have, mix together add some chipotle in adobo(blended) maybe some honey or vinegar depending on the taste you are seeking.

If you like straight up KC style with the smoke flavoring in the sauce, this is a +1 also for Head Country and Head Country Hot. They're both good, and I use them both in my brunswick stew and on hamburgers.

There are many options, I like Simply Marvelous, Pork Barrel, Burnt Offerings and of course, Big Butz. Pretty much I have all of those around the house. I did try a new local sauce called 1849 Brand, which was quite good.

I stumbled upon some KC Masterpiece private stock and it was what regular KC masterpiece is suposed to be. real sugar, the seasonings are right up front. very good. I use KC as a base to modify off of

I recommend making your own sauce. Do some searches, experiment by adding recipes together, adding things you wouldn't think would be in a sauce. Not only is it fun, you might come up with something uniquely awesome.

Or you end up with a fridge full of sauce, like this lol

Lately my favorite commercial sauce has been the Budweiser sauce... Dont like their beer but the sauce is pretty good

I 2nd the Cowtown Night of the Living BBQ from Original Juan (OJ) or their Original Cowtown is really good too.
OJ has a new line of sauces called American Stockyard and their Southern Blues and Memphis Red ( i wonder who this is compared to?) are good, I mix the 2 together to cut the sweetness of the Southern Blues. Their Smoky Sweet is really good and if you like Mustard, I've been told (by my wife) that their Smoky Mustard is awesome. Plus, all their sauces are 30% off on-line this month. www.originaljuan.com
