I saw it on a commercial yesterday, but not much info on it

This is the first i have heard about it. Hope its better than the last season of bbq pitmaster.

I'd definitly be interested in this. What channel is it suppose to air on and is it a series or just a special?

That is the trailer for an old episode of Bbq pitmasters that aired a while ago.

My bad BBQinMI. I followed the link and ended up there. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks interesting...
My first thought when they mentioned Myron, Tuffy, and Johnny was that it could be a BBQ version of Iron Chef.
Iron Smoker??

Scrap Iron Chef (Alton Brown did that on Good Eats)

I'd be interested in seeing it, but I don't have cable. I have better things to spend my money on at the moment.

My thoughts exactly. Guest cook goes up against one of the Kings in BBQ head to head.

Yep this is the pilot and I'll be one of the judges along with Amy Mills and Kevin Gillespie. It looked like a good show from my seat :) Got our fingers crossed that we'll get to do more of them soon.

SMOKED! - One hour special premieres Monday, May 27 at 9pm E/P on DESTINATION AMERICA
Every year, pit masters across the country vie against their peers for the title of BBQ Pit Masters Grand Champion. But even with the belt in hand, there's still one more thing standing in the way of glory: the judges. SMOKED gives a pit master champion the chance to go tong-to-tong with the judges - and this special features three-time World BBQ Champ Myron Mixon, with help from his son, Michael Mixon - in a showdown to claim the ultimate in BBQ competition bragging rights. In the end, when the dust clears, one will be the victor and the other will be SMOKED.

I hate to be a negative nelly and I know I'm going to sound like a elitist but I didn't like the commercial and I assume the show because it is so unoriginal that it is in appealing to me. These type of shows bore me and leave me wishing a tv exec thought the same that I do,It is far more interesting to watch people do what they so in the natural environment they do it in. I wish they had a show called "the jack" and followed 8 teams from beggining to the end of the jack and aired 8 episodes I truly believe it would be the best bbq show ever.

I really enjoyed the first season where they toured around and followed teams at events. I thought that was a heck of a lot more entertaining that watching 4 square off. I liked the elements, the pissed off emotions, doubt... and victories!!

No offense is meant, I do believe. Just a simple fact, you don't like, use the little button. Why get snarky about saying that? For my thoughts, it does bring more attention and hopefully more funds later to the overall BBQ community. Glad Ray has a shot. And if I don't like it, I'll use that little button. No big deal. Steve.
