Where do you buy your spices?

I go to Costco! I get the "McCormick Gourmet" spices in large containers there and they have great prices on them! I've gotten smoked paprika, coarse black pepper, chili powder, red pepper flakes and lots more and they average from about $4.00 to about $6.00 each based on size but they're all much larger than what you get at the grocery store.

ok I just did a quick check at the Penzys website and My Spice Sage

I looked for Turbinado Sugar since I order it from My Spice. Its a pretty popular sugar to use in rubs. And its free shipping on orders $10 or more, less than $10 there is a $3 fee.

I do not see it on the Penzys site?

I grow my own herbs and spices and dry them so I know I have a consistant product. Yeah, thats what I do . Ok, I get mine at Sam's too.

This place does mail order (and, I believe, Amazon) but they are only about 20 minutes from me. I stop by fairly often and pick up my stranger spices from them. Super nice folks and they carry an amazing array of spices and powders.

I actually live right on the edge of Greer, so that's very close. I'm going to stop in and if they have the big shaker jars, I'll try those if for no other reason than I need the containers =)

After that, it appears that Penzey's and Spice House was started by the same family? I suppose I'll just order from whoever has what I'm looking for at the best prices (assuming that those nutmeg spice company bottles aren't the best value).

Grow a lot of my own herbs, buy some at Costco, and buy some at a local mom and pop herb shop that I've been doing business with since I was sixteen. Oh, Palo Azul. You dirty dog.

Penzey's for me. When I get from the grocery store its a company called "Its Delish". They come in those large shakers(spices, powders 8 to 10 oz), good stuff, and a heck of alot cheaper than the little bottles. Not sure if they're a west coast deal though.

I get mine from spicesinc.com
great selection of fresh spices in various sizes and a nice selection of salt free seasonings as well. Quick shipping and free if you order over a certain $ amount.
