Last year at the Jack they said Sam's do not count as they don't consider them to be an "open" event since you have to be a KCBS member. Maybe they changed that sometime this year.

OK I got a really stupid question and I admit I never checked into it, I thought you had to be a KCBS member to cook at their comps.Is this not true? I love competition cooking but have never joined the KCBS cuz the line of work I am in I never never know if I will be home to compete.
 
No you do not have to be a KCBS member to compete in a KCBS sanctioned event. Unless you want to do the Sams Club series

South Dakota has Quau winning Vermillion last Sept. along with the winner of Hill City coming up in August. Parrothead Smokers won Huron and Watertown but has an Auto from Idaho?
 
Yes Trevor Parrothead is the Idaho draw and Quau is an auto for 7 GC's so the Hill City GC will be the South Dakota draw. Better get your butt to the Black Hills!

Is this KCBS and FBA?
 
Due to multiple comps in the UK there is a bung draw here rather than having a series champion this year.

Bunch of Swines won 3 GC's
BBQ Fanatics won 1

The only other international bung places i am aware of is in the Netherlands
