Honey Buns??

Saw a post on a Farkbook group the other day on bacon wrapped Honey Buns.

Had some stuff on the smoker today, so why not?

Started off innocently enough with a visit with Little Debbie.

Sliced them in half and wrapped each with a slice of bacon

Added Hot Salt

Onto the Shirley

Oh yea!

Wow!
This was not what I expected.
Soft and pillowy on the inside, the bacon candied from the glaze on the honey bun.

Nice,..... years ago, I read and tried bacon wrapped fig newtons topped with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. They were called Pig Newtons... it was good.

Smoker was running at ~275F. They cooked until the bacon was done

Never bacon wrapped them, but I have grilled them many times. Also have put them on the flat top with a little butter and grilled them up like french toast.

My favorite is Kevin Gillespie's honey bun bread pudding. We skip the peanut butter whiskey sauce because even though it sounds delicious, it isn't.
