Main 4 (chicken, ribs, pork & brisket)
Sausage - any sausage, any size, cooked onsite and turned in inside a provided 9x9 Styrofoam container.
Miscellaneous - any meat, not already included in another category, turned in inside a provided 9x9 Styrofoam container.
Side Dish - any recipe where meat is not the MAIN ingredient, (meat can be an ingredient), turned in in any container.
Dessert - any dessert, turned in in any container
People's Choice - We provide you 3 pork butts, you inject 'em, season 'em, massage 'em, rub 'em, and cook 'em. Turn them in to us, the people vote and determine a winner.
Best BBQ in Kane County - Highest Scoring Team with head cook from Kane County wins.
Rookie - Highest Scoring Team in their first year of KCBS Level competition

Last year was a great competition but we have a scheduling conflict this year, good luck kevin, hope you have a good turn out. . . Hopefully see ya next year.
 
Does kinda suck to miss the one 12 miles away after making Traverse City and Freemont (8 and 4 hour drives). We will see.....

We are VERY sorry that so many of the local teams will miss our contest. Mark your calendar for next year July 11, 12, 13. - we plan to be the first full weekend (including Friday) after the fourth of July.

We also had a planning meeting today, looking at possible vendors, possible sponsors, and some complimentary activities. A couple of suggestions (since it is at Charlestown Mall) - Carnival, Live Bands, Helicopter rides, hot air balloon rides, and who knows what else. These aren't guaranteed but things we are looking into.

If you are following us on facebook - we're open to suggestions for vendors, sponsors and activities.

We may also have opportunities for you with other events that we are involved with planning - reach out for more information.

Hope to be able to attend...either as an amateur team or as a CBJ! Either way, this looks like an amazing event...thanks for the info.

It was confirmed yesterday, this is the weekend after we do the Sam's club in Traverse City, MI which will probably end up being 3 days gone, We are OUT for sure (as of now). . . Couple of good showings might change that thinking.
