That's a tough field of competitors right there! I wish I would have have time this weekend to go, congratulations to all of those who walked!!

Got my first comment card today....

We got two :tsk:

It was great to meet you and Trish, Jeff, and to hang out with a bunch of Brethren! It's always a good time when the Brethren are involved!

It was great to see Gilly win in his home town.

Even though I was one of the only RV's not in the RV lot, it was good visiting everyone and finally meeting Ron. However, I was in good company with Rooter Tooter BBQ and Jacks Old South for neighbors. Good times!

I got a 2 on chicken for under-done. Still managed a 5th in chicken. Bunches of 9's, and a 2.....probed them all. Oh well.

Very nice to have you guys as neighbors as well.

Jeff, there is vein that runs through some thighs and I think that sometimes it can hold blood even through the cooking cycle, then when you bite into it it will release a small amoumt of blood - even on a well cooked thigh. When I trim chicken I always look for that vein on the back of the thigh and if it is prominent, I remove it.

Yes - no doubt it was a really tough field at this one! Lots of great teams and tough competition. Was a fun contest and the venue was pretty good overall. At least on Saturday we got a little reprieve from the weather. Was a lot of fun seeing everyone and enjoyed the cook. Congrats to all who walked in this crowd!!

Good point, Wayne... I always look to remove that vein as well.

Yea, thanks for the tip. I am going to start wearing my glasses whilst trimming moving forward!

It was great to see Gilly win in his home town.

I know Gil gets on here ever once in a awhile so I will give him some grief for complaining he never does well in his hometown. :becky: Nice job bro!

Congrats to all the other brethren who heard their name as well!

Thanks

It was nice to have a hometown win. This was big for me, considering the last 2 years I have average 12th.
