I thought perhaps the Margarita's and tons of beer Saturday night - hurt my performance between the hours of midnight and 4am. Sure enough brisket and pork reflect that. Though we attempted to take shifts from 11pm onward I believe I slept through 75% of my first leg and I am beginning that Sean May slept the whole 2am to 4am shift. I put brisket on at midnight and passed out with one of the head lights still on my head. Woke up at 3:30 with a core body temperature of about 74 and trying to figure where this strange light was coming from flashing around me. Stumbled out to the grill that was blazing at about 80 degrees and realized I still had the light on my head. Oh well pulled it together for a respectable 7th in chicken and I have to be honest there must have been 12 amazing rib entries to put us in 13th. Feels good to atleast know that what I felt about what I turned in was in fact true- damn good chicken, respectable ribs and pork and brisket-that was a day late and a smoke ring short. See if we can improve next week on staten island.

Haha....We didn't hurt you did we? I think the only thing we hurt were our Chicken & Rib scores :laugh: We tried some new things, and it didn't work out....except for Bisket!

I had a great time as always. It was great to see everyone.

LMAJ (Lynne-Michele) started a covert plan quite some time ago to get as many members as possible to sign a Brethren shirt for Phil (Poobah) as a way to say 'thank you' for all he does for the Brethren and the BBQ community at large.
