I'm liking the looks of that! How long do you figure two of the small tanks will last on that set up?

I have no clue, LOL. It is a concern and we will see. I can estimate.

I ran a guy's french fry trailer once and he only had one 40 pounder and we never ran out. The fryer is 100K BTUs but real efficient the way it heats and of course is totally automated. Also, I ran a gas assist and stove on my funkatorium for events

So I will start with 2, 20 ponders cuz thats what I have without purchasing anything extra. I have three. I am going to fill one of these puppies (not the exchange but fill) cook for maybe 30 minutes, then refill and calcuate what I am using but I have other 20 pounders on standby and I can switch easy with the dual thing. I can always just buy a 40 pounder at the feed store later if they run out too soon.

Will you get more pressure from running both tanks open at the same time? Or, will the regulator only draw what it needs regardless if both tanks are running on the Y? I think you should be good with the two smaller tanks and the third as back up.

Your garage looks like mine! BTW, do the neighbors look and stare when you are running the chop saw and welder in the driveway? I get some WTF looks most times!

As usual I like your video and your garage looks JUST about as chaotic as mine. Only with a race car in the middle of mine that I hope I get the starter back for so I can maybe like race it.... Deep fried ribs? Hmmm. I'd try some.

yeah I need to throw some **** away.

Bob, the regulator is a left, right tank thing. It goes red as on tank is emptied and you turn the dial to the other. You can even replace a tank in the middle of using the fryer as long, of course, as its turned to the other one.

Sweet build so far. I would have added square plates to act as gussets in the corners to mount the wheels on. Just a tad more support there.. yeah.. next time. Great instructions on the conversion to LP. You'll be fine with 2 filled 20 lbs in our current weather for 2 or 3 cooks at least I think. They may ice in colder weather and be hard to use all the LP.
I look forward to part 2.

Donnie, don't know if you will add some video of the cook itself, but some info about cooking times, tips etc would really help. Do you use peanut oil?

Thanks,
Bob

Loved your video Donny.
Love the location of your fryers pilot light compared to the one we have at Eagle Park.
You have to lie on your back and I swear the pilot light is located just below the bottom of the oil fryer tank.

You are so right... about the gussets. Not entirely through... sort of a rush job. I will be cutting two off and adding two with locks on the front.

Thanks for the advice on the burn time.... but I estimate I will be burning 3 hours with all the chicken I am cooking. So I have a third tank and depending on how fast that first one empties out, there's enough time to get a switch if needed.

Yes Bull, there will be an updated cook video for the chicken AND the smoked deep fried (non breaded) racks of ribs.
