Head Count for 2014 SoCal Bash Starts Here: Saturday May 17: North Hills/Van Nuys Airport Adjacent

Nope.

I sent him and a number of others 2 pms a few months ago who said they would have come if they had known about it...dead silence.

You made the attempt at any rate.

Managed to fit the Little Santa Maria pit in the trunk of the Altima :)twitch:) and heading out somewhere a bit after noon. Gotta make a couple of stops on the way over.

Damn. What an impressive cast of characters to assemble for a Saturday get together. You guys have a great time! Wish I were there. :thumb::thumb:

Plus, I wanna see Tonybel work that kettle magic. :becky:

I'm not the most social person in the world but this sounds like a good get together. Sorry to say I have a built in excuse that my car is in the shop. :/

Have fun all!

Mmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmmm...........

Too much good food! May not me able to move around much today. I will need some of those recipes please!

First of all, THANK YOU to Major and his lovely wife for hosting this event again! They have a house and property that is just made for events like this.

We had incredible food and too much of everything. We need more eaters at these things!

It was great seeing the Brethren again. It was a bit of a drive for Anne and me, but definitely worth it. Starting off with some incredible special Salsa's and then on to that Jalapeno Popper dip along with an Adult Beverage (or two), it got kicked off quickly. The Chicken wings had some very good kick to them and were cooked to perfection. I can't think of anything that was less than incredibly good. Ham. Pastrami. Sausage. Mac n Cheese. Biscuits. Cornbread. Brisket. Ribs. I know many photos were taken and will be posted at some point.

Tonybel, I hope everything is good on the home front - you had to leave before the main food started coming off the BBQ's. Let us know that everything is OK.

It was a great time and I hope the tradition continues! Thanks again to all!

I'm awake (barely). The bash was off the chain.

Pics later.

Tony and maribel: please let us know how you are. My wife was bummed you had to go, because she was having fun chatting with you.

To all: Jennifer could not stop talking about all of you, and the food (in that order) and she really loved the food.

To our absent brethren: please next the next one. If you haven't been, you will kick yourself for not making earlier ones. If you've been, you know what I mean, and your presence was missed.

Back to bed for me...

My daughter is doing good. She got 6 staples in her head. Didn't leave the Kaiser until 10:30 pm. After the hospital ride home we stopped by a taco stand and when I asked my daughter if she was hungry and wanted tacos... She woke up and said yes.
That's when I knew we were going to be alright.

This is out first experience with our kids being hurt and taken to the hospital.

We look forward to next years bash.

Maribel wants to know if we can get the jalapeño dip recipe.

I think we all ate WAY TOO MUCH! It was a great time. Thanks to Major and Karen for hosting us again and to Moose for putting it together. It was great seeing all the Brethren again. I'm glad to hear your daughter is OK Tony. The party was really just getting going and we missed you and Mirabel. We had enough food to feed many more people than were there. Thanks to all for pastrami, brisket, tri-tip, ham, biscuits, sausage, corn bread, pizza, chicken, beans, ribs, mac-n-cheese, carne asada, hot wings, jalapeno popper dip, lemon icebox pie, and strawberry pistachio semifreddo. I may have forgotten something in that list, sorry if I did. Way too much food for way too few people. Here's a few pics I took on my cheapie phone. I'm sure the will be more to come from others. We posed Guerry with the Spam and Cabo for his pic! Sorry about the glare.
I'll post the popper dip recipe in a while for those who want it.
SmokinJohn, the ECB WILL hear about the batman UDS!
Now, what to have for breakfast - brisket, pastrami, ribs, ham???
Tony, I got some of the carne asada to take home too, and I'm looking forward to having some tacos later.
