They have a parking lot for some teams and the vending teams... then everyone else will be on the street that is closed off. There will be grass behind your spots, so it for sure won't get muddy if it happens to rain.
Anybody have an address for this place?

In Westmont, about a half mile north of Cass Ave.Take a right on either Chestnut Dr or Plaza Ave. Go down about 2 blocks and you'll see it. Nice little park. Do a search on msn maps, just type in Ty Warner Park and it'll show you exactly where it's at.

When you are heading north on Cass, you will turn right on Plaza Dr. Go down Plaza and they will have all the lots off of Plaza... The teams will be on the far western portion of Ty Warner Park. The street, Burr Oak will be closed off, as teams will be on there as well.

welp they recontacted me today about if i want todo the chili cookoff, told them naaa first comp we need to worry about the other comp first. i also told them like 5 teams from the bbq brethern will be coming so they are gonna try and setup all the brethern together, so just mention to them you are with the brethern, can't wait for first comp and to meet some brethern.
Had a great couple of hours with the teams here. Very glad to see you guys and anxiuosly awaiting the next meeting. Waiting for results. Should be done by now, but I don't expect anyone to be home and able to post.

I'm home. All of the guys were packing up and heading out. I don't remember all of the finishes so I'll let one of the guys who competed give us the run down from their list. Here's what I do remember...
GC - Dr. Porkenstein - Congrats to Alex and Kate!
RGC - Smokey Joel/Cubby Bear - Congrats to Joel and the team!
Lot;s of Brethren teams walking including N-2-Que walking twice (must be the Spicewine! ), Voodoo walking once, BillM walking at least three times, 2Fat (Buzz) walked, and Scottie walking three times including one first place (Pork, I think). A couple of others who visit here once in a while walked as well. Smokehunters walked twice and BBQtioners (Brian) walked once and too the People's Choice for chili. If I missed anyone, please forgive me!
I also had a chance to meet Chris, BBQNeo and his team and catch up with a bunch of local teams who i haven't seen all winter. The weather sucked last night with constant rain and some thunder and lightening, but it cleared up this morning and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Jim Addington and his committee and the folks in Westmont did a great job with their first competition and managed to get it declared a state championship and also one of the Big Green Egg competitions so Alex and Kate took home the trophy, the cash and a BGE!
It was great seeing everyone and congrats to all of you!
