We were fortunate enough to get into the Kansas City contest in September. Happy we got in and that the registration process went so smooth...not so happy that SAM's gets to hold my money for 8 months.

Nice to see Medford get filled up so quickly. I was surprised when that didn't happen last year. What's up with Albequrque and Lexington? They up against traditional local contests or something?

The question I have is why don't the registered and confirmed numbers match? Do they really have to wait for people to send in checks? People still do that?

Yep...And we don't get to see the team list until all are confirmed (why wont they just say paid).

Two more for Medford...I see about 12 teams have declared they are into Medford so far (I had no life last night)

Last year Medford didnt fill up so didnt feel any pressure to race to sign up--guess I should have as waitlisted now...oh well

Medford may not have filled up last year, but last year there was a Sam's Club event in NJ - it was Pleasantville so far south. But for some teams in Northern/Central NJ, they went to Pleasantville, and this year w/o that option, they will sign up for Medford.

Phil and I (BBQ Mafia) are in that boat, we did Pleasantville last year, and this year we signed up and we are confirmed for Medford.

Also, I could be wrong, but was Medford the same weekend as New Paltz last year?

I chose to support my LOCAL contest...You'll find me cooking at Smokin' on the River - Jeffersonville (IN) on the third weekend of June and NOT the Sam's contest in Lexington (50 miles away) on the same date. :clap:
