I picked up this Oklahoma Joe Longhorn a couple months ago on Craigslist. Probably the oldest one I have seen based on the Serial #. I finally got around to restoring the exterior over the weekend.

*Sanded the exterior with an angle grinder and sanding discs (60 grit then 120 grit).
* painted with flat black automotive header "ceramic coating". 2 coats.
*sanded and refinished the wood handles.

I cooked on it a couple weeks ago and it does work really well!

Looks awesome! I love the way you guys rescue 'junk' and bring it back to life. I think that's part of the real "BBQ spirit" :)

It is a Longhorn. The smoke chamber 40" long by 16" diameter. The fire box is 20" long by 16" diameter. Talked with Horizon, based on the Serial # it was made around 1991-1992.
