The 6th annual Smokin in Steele in Owatonna MN will be May 31 - June 1.

Because it was so popular, we are again offering Early Bird Discounts.

Paid registrations by February 15th will receive :

1. Free entry into our ancillary category - Anything Butt

2. Free 20 amp electricity.
That is a $ 50 savings off our regular rates.

Smokin in Steele is a KCBS sanctioned State Championship contest with guaranteed $ 10,000 pay out. We pay to 10 places in all 4 categories plus GC and RGC.

Again this year we offer level sites of either asphalt or grass, reliable electricity, indoor bathrooms and showers, close water supply, garbage pickup, and cheap ice.

We also feature a full Blues Fest , Backyard event, robust Kids Q , Blues 4 Kids harmonica lessons, popular modified garden tractor pull, bean bag tourny (ACO Cornhole), 5 K run and Kids fun run, and antique tractor show.

Registration forms are on our website: www.smokininsteele.com

We are Knights of Columbus who are raising money for Special Olympics.

Come join in the fun!

Correction- I goofed!

Electricity is free, period! During the early bird discount.

We have both 20 amp and 30 amp. Both are on us if you sign up and pay by Feb 15th.

Tired of paying extra for that 30 amp that you need to run all your "goodies"?
We say you can have it for free if you early register and pay with us.
What a deal!

I'm in for judging this one again! We plan on being there from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning - last year a bunch of us stayed over at the campground for a little after-contest party :-D.

If you havn't been to Smokin In Steele you are missing out. One of the biggest and best contests in the upper midwest, just ask any one who has been there. Plenty of stuff going on great contest, good music, friendly people, and a great venue. Put it in your plans for the weekend of May 31-June 2.

David
The staying over in the campground option will be available again this year.

Looking forward to having you help us again this year. You are pleasant and quality addition to any contest. Your efforts to build bridges between cooks and judges is really great.

And the Tempelton and cheese is pretty darn good too!

Just a reminder for teams who want a good deal.

Our double discount early bird - that means free electricity plus free entry into ancillary category "Anything Butt" is only good for a few more days.

To get both discounts - a $50 value- we need your paid registration by Feb. 15

Don't get left out. Just 5 days left.

Our early bird discounts are twofold. The first part is expired but not before 18 teams got their double discount.

All is not lost however. Sign up and pay before April 1 and you can still get a free entry into our ancillary category of Anything Butt. That is a $ 25 savings.

And you still have time to act. Come join the fun.

Smokin in Steele, where beginners become winners. Both Tippi Canoe and Lucky's Q got their first GC at our contest.. Think about it.

Lyle, I applied back in January online to be a judge at your event...when will you be contacting us so we know if we can commit to this date. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Jim,
Both the accepted list and the provisional wait list have received an email from me.

So either way, you should have heard.
