Magnetic knife holder in competition trailer

For those of you with competition trailers that utilize magnetic knife holders.
Do you travel with the knives on the strip, or do you put them away for transport? If you keep them on, have you had any issues with them coming off during travel? I don't want to ruin or full a good knife due to a pot hole.....

I put them away during transport. I don't want to even take a chance of my knives getting dinged up.

If you have a good magnet they'll hold all day long.

I started out with one magnetic strip.

The heavier knives fell off during transport. So I added a second magnetic strip, same as the first one, an inch above the first. Now, they will stay on forever, but for long trips, i just wrap them in a towel and put them in the sink.

I won't even leave my knives in a sink, they are getting packed away safely any time I travel
