High on the Hog
My bbq team just got the info for High on the Hog in Winchester, TN. This will be our first competition. Any advice for a team of newbies?

Find out if it's KCBS or Memphis in May sanctioned...this will determine what you will cook.

Read back through the Competition Forum threads for hints, tips, identified problems, etc. There are references to and examples of checklists, timelines, etc.

Really try to arrive as early as they'll let you in the gates...some will even let you in night before - this allows you extra time to setup, take a deep breath, freak out over what you forgot, etc., and still have time to settle down.
