I made a guacamole salad with a lime/cumin vinigarette dressing. I was smoking 3 fatties today and decided to throw on a homemade bratwurst to go along with the salad for dinner. both were excellent!

It looks really good. However, I'm with Guerry on this one. Calling it guacamole is a real stretch but nothing a blender can't fix!!

care to share the cumin dressing recipe you used? thanks

here ya go:

2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp chopped cilantro (optional) ( me no had any so did not use)
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 Tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste.

whisk first 5 ingredients together then slowly drizzle in oil while continuing to whisk.

I like to mix foods to get different flavors....like Mexican & Italian. But to
slice an Avocado, or even chop it, and call it Guacamole, just doesn't make
sense. But, it isn't Boatnut that is guilty; it's some well know cooks that
are doing this. Rachel Ray is one...but there are a number of others that
are doing the same strange thing.

I think all you need to do is slide about half of that "salad" on top of the brat and eat it like that.....then you can get a second brat ...so...you know that salad doesnt go to waste.

Great looking meal!

Guacamole

Boatnut, if you want a Kicked -up Guacamole, try this:
3-Avacados(mashed or chunked)
1-Lime (juiced)
1-tsp. Cumin
S/P to taste
1-Tomato(seeded and cubed small)
1/4 cup-Cilantro(chopped fine)
1-8oz. pkg. room temp. CreamCheese
Mix all except Avacados first, then fold in Avacodo.:becky:

This is a Rich tasting and elegant Guacamole, especially on Fish Tacos
you can use sour cream for a different taste with Beef and Pork.
